Jo Goode
Our Olympic Bronze medalist, Jo is planning to play for the Hertfordshire 1st team this year, she made her county debut last season and enjoyed it so much that she has decided to give it a go again this year. Jo will also continue with her coaching of her children (Jack, Molly and Little Harry) and a few lucky others at the Ashaway Academy with notable other 'Goodes':
- Husband - Andy Goode (former Olympic Team manager and commonwealth Gold medalist)
- Brother in law - Nick Goode (former professional player)
- Father-in-Law - Bill Goode (who has coached the likes of Gail Emms, Rachel Howard & Liza Parker)
Unfortunately Rachel experienced a stress fracture of her right tibia at beginning of June
After four weeks of being on crutches (and going on holiday to Australia!) she has been gradually getting back into full trainingGoals for this season:
- To get back to level at which I was playing before my injury
- To do well on the national elite circuit (it may be difficult to win again as I’ve missed the first tournament due to injury)
- To reach semi-finals of international events and english nationals
- To beat top national and international players
Nathan has recently announce he retiring from full time badminton, he will still be playing the domestic circuit and coaching
Richard Wrigley also at the meeting, Richard is one of the countrys top singles players, Richard will be playing as many Open, Challenger and Elite circuit events as his schedule (and body) can stand. Richard appears in the Knight Trainer Video ....
